The Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (VIC) (Act) governs the way in which Council needs to responsibly collect, handle and protect personal information and ensure data security.

Council will only collect personal information:

1. necessary for one or more of Council's legitimate functions or activities

2. by lawful and fair means and not in an unreasonably intrusive way

3. if reasonable and practicable, directly from the individual

At or before the time of collection, Council will take reasonable steps to ensure you are aware of the reason for collection and to whom the information will be disclosed to. Council will only use or disclose personal information for a “secondary purpose” in specified circumstances.

If you prefer that even your anonymous data from browsing Council's or any other website was not collected, you can opt-out with a browser add-on from Google Analytics.
