Berninneit Art Gallery

Berninneit Art Gallery is a professional visual arts space that brings the best in contemporary art to our region, supporting and fostering local artists. Attracting both residents and visitors alike, it is a curated gallery that stands as Bass Coast’s first purpose-built exhibition space. The gallery currently presents curated and touring contemporary exhibitions that are relevant to our community, showcasing works from Bass Coast artists, the Council’s collections, and the wider arts sector.

We strive to present well-executed and coherent exhibitions of the highest quality, featuring emerging and established artists from Australia and beyond. Our exhibition programme is designed to support and develop the arts in the region, fostering a strong sense of local identity and encouraging meaningful dialogue and participation from the community.

The gallery offers a program of high-quality contemporary, regional, and First Nations-produced exhibitions. It provides a welcoming space for community engagement, exploration, and enjoyment of contemporary art and cultural events. Our multi-disciplinary approach to programming allows new ideas, perspectives and forms in art and culture to cross pollinate.
